2026 NEC Code Changes

Manufacturing Plant Scenario

Calculations

Course credit – 8 hours or 8 CEUs

Throughout this 8-hour course, you will work through this real-world scenario step by step while performing electrical load calculations in accordance with the 2026 National Electrical Code. You will determine calculated loads for receptacles, luminaires, motors, welders, and other equipment to properly size electrical components.

Grounding and Bonding

Course credit – 8 hours or 8 CEUs

This 8-hour continuing education course explores grounding and bonding requirements through a practical manufacturing plant project scenario. In this course, you are hired to install a new transformer, electrical panel, and several additional electrical loads for an existing manufacturing facility while also evaluating the building’s existing grounding electrode system.

Dwelling Unit Scenario

Course credit – 8 hours or 8 CEUs

This 8-hour course walks you through performing residential load calculations using a realistic custom home project scenario. In this course, a custom home builder hires you to design and install the electrical system for a new residence that includes a detached workshop and an existing accessory dwelling unit (ADU) with additional square footage and new electric loads.

This 8-hour explores grounding and bonding requirements using a realistic dwelling unit project scenario. Colorado State Requirements:

All licensed electricians must complete 24 hours of continuing education before renewing in September 2020. Continuing education hours must be selected from among the Core Competencies below in any combination. A minimum of four hours is required in National Electrical Code Changes. No more than four hours will be credited in safety training and hours are not required to be completed in safety training.
