This 8-hour course walks you through performing residential load calculations using a realistic custom home project scenario. In this course, a custom home builder hires you to design and install the electrical system for a new residence that includes a detached workshop and an existing accessory dwelling unit (ADU) with additional square footage and new electric loads.

Throughout the course, you will apply the 2026 National Electrical Code load calculation rules to determine the required sizes for the main house electrical service, main house basement feeder, existing ADU service, and the workshop feeder.
