This 8-hour explores grounding and bonding requirements using a realistic dwelling unit project scenario. In this course, a custom home builder hires you to design and install the electrical system for a custom residence that includes a detached workshop and an existing accessory dwelling unit (ADU) with additional square footage and new electrical loads.
Throughout the course, you will review the grounding and bonding requirements that apply to these electrical systems in accordance with the 2026 National Electrical Code. The course walks through how to properly size and install grounding electrode conductors, bonding jumpers, and other critical components for residential installations.
Using clear explanations, practical examples, and detailed illustrations, the course reviews the purpose of grounding and the components of the earth grounding electrode system, as well as the purpose of bonding and the components necessary to establish an effective ground-fault current path.
